Hello,
Has anyone here attempted to pull the fan out to clean it?? Mine seems to be blowing very weak.
Is it a difficult job?
regards

say hello to taking your dash board out  . Cleaning it won't make it blow any faster. Chances are you'll have to put a new one in. I suggest you do this anyway so you won't have to replace it again in a few years. I have done it, so if there is anything you need to know, ask away

My heater fan was just a 2nd handy. No photos of the job either. But its not hard. The heater fan is located behind this thing:

The only way to get that vent off is to pull the dash out. Another tip: once you get that vent off, the fan wheel is clamped to the fan motor VERY tight. The ONLY way to get the fan wheel off is to break it off  . So i bought a new fan wheel new from ford ($20)

Its the actual fan (not the motor) there are two parts to it. Its a big wheel looking thing. It looks similar to this:

but thats off a chrysler. But it looks the same. Definatly buy the fan wheel first then you won't have to wait until monday to buy it off ford if your going to do it on the weekend. If you get your stuff together first it should just be a weekend job
