g'day .. can any one help us out here .. i just brought a new SAAS steering wheel and a boss kit for my el falcon. and was wondering has anyone here fitted one before..?

Yes, you need a boss kit with the square shaft for EL, but remember, removing the airbag is not legal.
You can also pull the steering shaft apart, and fit ED upper to EL lower for splined shaft. |

Its worth a try and do a doco on it for the rest of the members here.

the centre of the colum is torx bit and that but you will need a rig to pull the steering wheel of i took on of an el yesterday at work took me f**k 30 minutes to get our rig centred and the right length bolts i was swearing and carrying on etc etc but once i had the right length bolts and all centred 5 minutes tops to get it off

ya dont need a puller or any of that s**t just leave the bolts a few turns in and bang and bash it it will come loose then pull it off remove the bolt and presto its off.
so is it possible to get a boss kit for ef/el ect ????????

Leave the bolt in a few turns, then wiggle the wheel. It'll come off quickly and easily.
(don't leave the bolt in, and you'll need dental or rhinoplasty work)

I'm actually just changing my wheel, and I've goot the torx bit, loosened off half way, and I've been yank'n and yank'n and it hasnt budged.
What kinda muscles have you dudes got ?!?! Any other suggestions ? I've got a hammer and other primative tools, I tried building a big leaver, but there aint much to leaver off. I was thinking about sitting some ice blocks on the center, but that just sounded silly. |
