Ive had it with my power windows ! They keep sh*tting themselves. So Im gonna get rid of the power mechanism and put in normal manual ones. Just need to know will any manual ones from EA through to EL fit? They're to go on my EB II Fairmont Ghia.
Cheers.

Well Im sick of the electric ones playing up all the time. Sick of replacing them! Would now rather get manual ones and be done with it. A hell of alot cheaper too.

Once the rivets are out and your using bolts you will be able to swap a reg in about five minutes!! if you are serious you will have to use povo GLi door trims which are nasty

the gear inside the gearbox on the motor has a bad reputation for stripping out

he could always just cut the hole for the handle to go through so it isnt 100% necesary that he used gli trims

Better to find the problem, which may be the cable, may need some washers to stop the swage cutting through the plastic carrier, also correct adjustment of the lower window mount helps with less binding on the motor. Too much load on the motor causes problems, so make sure your window raises freely, before fitting the motor.

Unfortunately, because it's a Fairmont, you would have to remove the arm rests for the winder handle to fit. |

I thought in the EB's that they where the same shape, just trimmed different.

PUT GRAFIT POWDER ON THE RUNNERS .IT WILL LET THE WINDOW RUN SMOTHER AND LESS STRESS ON THE MOTOR.
