I just got my self a new head unit went to auto barn to get the pioneer and ford adapters but when i pulled out the old head unit i found out an idot stuck the old one in. can before i go and get a new ford loom i as wanting to know if some one could tell me how to cut off the old sony plug and rewire my pioneer one on.

You may have to go to the wreckers and cut the plug out and do some damage control.

Surely you can figure that out?!

They're all the same color.

The speaker outs for MOST receiver defaults are as follows:
Green
Grey
Violet
White

Power is:
Red
Yellow
Black

Remote (amp/ant):
Blue or Blue with White

I can only say you may have wasted $15 on the adapter.

Your head unit MAY contain other default options, like Dimming/Phone mute.

ok here are the wiring colours that you need:

red - switched pos
yellow - constant
black - ground
blue - remote (turns your amp/s on when the h/u is switched on)

those green/white/grey/purple coloured wires on the pioneer loom as for speakers (which ones, i dont know)

if your running your speakers off an amp then its simple just cut the s**t looking sony plug off and get rid off thoose scotch locks. then wire in the red/yellow wires run the black wire to a suitable earth point and the blue one connects to the rem at the amp.

your existing loom looks a little cruddy but its not that bad. try and keep the wires at equal length use heat shrink for a more clean professional look, and did i mention ditch the scotch locks lol

Those terminal blocks can only make it easier, they're threaded and can be reused and are very straight forward,

I could only offer a headbutt to the original bloke from breaking them apart like that!

wow...looks like my install. I used those scotch locks and they seem to work a treat.

Previous owner of car had the wires also snipped and I couldn't be bothered soldering in...

I'd do what nannas_ed said, rewire the whole thing again.
