have you checked the heater tap? If the tap opens then the core is getting hot... If the tap is stuck closed for whatever reason this could be it... Just read you have a BA? Not sure where the tap is on a BA...

Assuming its a BA... Other thing to play up is the HIM module... Worth around 7 or 800 bucks IIRC... You'll need to take it to Ford to have it diagnosed... If the HIM is dead (It's a case full of motors that do all your flap movements in the heater box) you'll need to pull the dash out to change it...

Cheers,
Tim

that's what i said... Not sure on a ba... You heater pipes go into the car on the drivers side of the engine bay, just above the exhaust manifold... Two rubber pipes... They run around the back of the motor and under the intake manifold... Follow them... The tap goes in line with the hose that supplies the hot water to the core... It looks like aheater tap? Google it or ebay it... The e series and a series were vacuum operated... Vacuum held the tap closed... No vacuum opened the tap... The b series tap could be in the bay or in the car and could be electronic or vacuum... I have no idea...

Look on ebay for a ba heater tap... That'll give you a fair idea...

Most of the later BA's do NOT have a heater tap. Ford replaced them with new types of heater pipes.

The main trouble is with a shaft that goes throuugh the middle of the heater box that controls the vent flap over the top of the heater core. You are looking at a big job to replace the shaft as the WHOLE dash has to come out. It would be a good idea of course to have a dealer put the IDS mahine on your car to see if it IS the HIM module because you need to remove the dash to change it anyway..

The module costs $651.00 and the shaft that breaks sometimes, costs $55.00.
