For C/C test, you need the ignition to be in the 'on' position, running or not.
You dont need to hold the buttons, just press 'mode' and 'off' together then let go.

It still isnt working at all.....nothing happends (other than the usual)
I press the mode button and the off button simulaniously and nothing, just switches the mode.
I tried this a good 50 times, with other combinations.
This is getting very frustrating.
I have also tried to put it into monitor mode, doesnt work either.

Thanks for your help guys, looks like i have to freeze for a while longer

Car also needs to be warm when you do the diag test. Coolant temp above 40 deg from memory.

Otherwise it can cause wrong results.

Diag mode also resets the travel of the blend door motor, so if it cant see warm air, it confuses the operation.

worthwhile checking for a blocked heater core, with the engine hot turn the heater on and touch the hoses that pass through the firewall to the heater core if one is hot and the other cold then u have a blocked core. if both are roughly around the same temp then the core is ok

Thats really weird about the diagnostic mode not working.
Have you checked all your fuses, I wonder if the CC unit is not getting a signal from something.
Might be worthwhile to pull out the CC unit and check the plug at the back.

Warm or cold the test should work but, as above, the test will not work properly. It will still perform the test though.

There must be some other underlying issue causing this. I'd get this solved before forking out money to have the blend door replaced.

Firstly how do i pull out the CC unit. and secondly i looked at the fuses relating to aircon or heater and they are all fine.
I had a look under the car for the heater tap and i have a photo here

I was just wondering if something was missing from here ??
It looks like another hose is to be connected where i have circled it.
All the pipes are warm so there isnt an issue there.

STILL CANT GET IT INTO DIAGNOSTICS MODE!!!! and this could solve my problems
should i take it to ford?? and get them to tell me whats wrong with it ?
