I've just bought a whole heap of smd lights to replace my inside ones! unfortunetly im a dosuche so I maqnged to screw something up.
Steps i regretfully took: 1) removed centre courtesy light and replaced with new 12 smd festoon (all lights operate correctly) 2) remove smd 3) remove boot light and replace with smd, boot light works however required some fiddling as the smd didnt fit exactly right and had a bit of a loose connection (i reckon this might have caused the problem cause there were tiny sparks for a second) 4) interior courtesy lights do not turn on no matter what, however ignition light + boot still work 5) took a mulitmeter to each globe -> courtesy lights show only 0.1V, boot light shows 7V please any help would be great! Have I blown a fuse? how do i fix this?

Have I blown a fuse? how do i fix this? If its just a blown fuse then replace it... LED's don't draw enough current to create a spark, sounds like a short to me. If the fuse has not reacted quick enough then the BEM/BCM is gone and would need replacement/repair.

sorry to hijack the thread..
I fitted led lights through the interior, all worked fine, until i got a set of bayonet style lights for the rear courtesy lights, for some reason these ones wont turn on but all the others do? I've tried spinning the globe the other way around but made no difference

Ha! I just got my globes today and was about to make a new post asking the exact same thing!
do you have a BA9S globe? thats the ones i bought that are supposed to work but don't I'm pretty sure its because the polarity of the fords is reversed so that the usual + side (like on the globes both me and u have) is actually the - any1 care to shed some light on this? is there any way to rewire it?

yep ba9s
the weird thing is though, when i first put them in i blew a fuse, but when i did they turned on but were very dull. when the fuse blew they were on when they were meant to be off and when they were meant to be on they turned off.

yeh got the same probelm is. been doing a bit of searching and we got our hands on polar sensitive globes. LED's can only take current through them in a single direction, so with the ones we bought the direction is wrong hence the fuse blowin and what not
we got 2 options: 1) buy these below because they arent polar sensitive http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT 2) follow the guide below, ull lose the ability to use them as a reading light but they will still come on whenever your courtesy lights are activated http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread ... 1949&pp=30
