Hey everyone,
So, after buying my Momo steering wheel with cruise pad (Out of a ED XR), taking my old wheel off... I then realised everything looks different underneath. So obviously, my car (NA Fairlane) has existing cruise buttons, but how do I make them work? Will I have to cut and connect wires? |

You need a boss kit with the 3 contact rings on the back.

Ahhhh crap. Sound have done my research. I bought a Saas boss kit with only two contact rings. What boss kit has 3 that will fit the XR Momo?

If you cannot get an aftermarket boss kit with 3 rings you need the boss kit that was originally fitted to the wheel... It sounds like you purchased a non cruise momo wheel but? The cruise momo wheel comes with the cruise buttons in the horn pad and the text was printed at 45 degrees to allow the buttons to run up the wheel? All wiring is there and just plugs in... Real easy to fit... Nearly all momo's for sale come with the boss kit... If you bought a cruise one it should have come with the boss kit still attached (one part isn't much help without the other)... I'd contact the seller and see if he still has it... Failing that try ebay and auto shops and strictly specify that you need the 3 ring type...

Yeah, I bought the Momo with cruise pad, as pictured. But no, it didn't come with the boss.
This is my first car with cruise control and just didn't give it any thought. I'll try as you suggested and ask the seller first. My Saas boss simple has the positive and negative wires attached to it, so I was a bit confused as to how I would connect my wheel with its 3 pin plug to the two wires! Thanks for the help guys! PS- Is it at all possible to buy those 45 degree cruise buttons anywhere anymore? Mine have been painted over (Terribly) by the previous owner. |

Nope to the buttons... And goodluck finding a set separate to the wheel... You wouldn't be able to buy std buttons new anymore and good sets which aren't faded are impossible to find... Steering wheel covers are must to not only protect the leather but also the buttons (the sort that hang over the whole wheel when parked)...
Best you could do is take them somewhere and maybe get them professionally painted black... Then have vinyl stickers or transfers made to replicate the words (you could try this on near faded white set of std ones if you have old spares first)... Cheers, Tim

Yeah, figured that was the case.
I'm just going to experiment with my old standard set. Transfers would be a good idea. Might try that - Thanks |
