Hey guys,
my car goes in tomorrow to have its RWC completed however the central locking has been playing up- i have purchased 2 motors however looking and fiddling around i have no idea how to remove the existing ones. Can someone please help me- this is for an ef wagon. From what i can work out the passenger side one is the one not staying down. drivers side seems fine. |

I am assuming the ef-el are similar. So undo every screw you can find on the sides and bottom of the door trim, window winder handle and the 3 pieces of plastic that hide the screws in the [1 in the door opener and the [2 in the armrest. Now carefully starting at the bottom pull the door trim outwards .Do the boottpom and the sides .The top lifts straight up hopefully but remove the corner plastic first near the mirror.Done that ?Good ,you can slip the door handle through the hole.ok so far so good. Now you can see foam cushion stuff, pull it away from the lock end of the door and tape it out of the road.Down in the bottom corner you will see 2 rivets, grind or drill them out. These hold the actuator in place.Follow the wiring to the connector and disconnect at the other end of the door. There is a stiff wire which joins the actuator to the lock, bend it and remove the actuator and undo the 2 screws which holds the actuator to the bracket.Fit new actuator to the bracket and do everything in reverse.Have fun Kevman

Thanks for that man, I ended up getting it done after talking with kelv_05ef_wagon. The look of the Rivets is what threw me- i was looking for like a 10mm set of bolts. I even tried looking for bolt heads on the inside of the door. Just a bit of inexperience. Basically both front doors were rat s**t as well as the tail-gate. I have replaced the front doors and just disconnected the tailgate for now.
