If the window is up, and you can make it go down to the access holes, its easy, but if its stuck on bottom, its a pain, have the left hand bolt undone, but such a little space to fit my hand in to try and undo the right hand one, getting about half a turn every 5 mins, in between dropping the spanner,

That sucks, mine was a easy to replace, thats cause my window was up, what about a little ratchet or something rather than a spanner. It sure is tight in there.

Best of luck.

solder the back of switch, my passenger window stopped working, and re-soldering the contacts at the back of switch fix it, no problem.

Good work.....a little while ago I was driving along, had one of the window buttons down to put the window down, button got stuck down, then after a bit I only noticed cause smoke started coming up from the power window buttons. The cirucuit had burnt out and started burning the plastic inside the buttons - only fix was to replace buttons from that, not to mention it stunk like s**t from burnt plastic.

If it makes you feel any better even the manual winders are based around the same s**t design. All four in my dads GLi are pretty much f**k. f**k bean counters.
