My drivers door electric window shat itself last night. there was a huge bang and it wouldn't go up. the motor still runs, the window goes down but i can't get it to go or stay up. has anyone had this happen to them? is it easily fixed?

EDIT: wouldn't be half as bad if it wasn't less than 10 degs and raining.....

Maybe out of alignment. If it was the the reg it wouldnt be going at all, maybe the glass has just fallen down.

it wouldn't go at all. i took the door trim off and had to lift the window up. it was stuck at first, but came free.

I think its the little plastic wheel which is part of the whole assembly, mine did that, you'll need a new regulator.

F that, you can buy very good used regs for $30 and have them fitted yourself

I can get one fully reconditioned for about $135 on the mainland (Melbourne south-east). New cables and fully re-worked.
