Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone can lend me a hand with my white LED interior lighting attempt.... At the moment I've changed all of these to white LED: - All courtesy lamps - Ceiling Globe Light (24 SMD5050 LED) - Sun visor switch lights - Footwell globes - Rear passenger globe (below rear air vents) What I wanted to know is if you can change these to LED: - the lights above each rear passenger window (I've also read of coloured filters for these,) - the two smaller lights that are coupled with the large ceiling interior light. and - the light just above the ignition barrel. I'm just about to change the light in the boot to an Eight SMD LED Festoon adapted light. Thanks guys, Russ.

Quote: the lights above each rear passenger window - the two smaller lights that are coupled with the large ceiling interior light. You will need reverse polarity BA9S LEDs for these ones.

With a philips head screwdriver haha You don't have to pull the wheel off or anything crazy. Pull down the tilt adjuster flappy thing and look around. From memory, there's either 4 or 6 screws that hold the plasticy bits together. When you get in there and have a look you should be able to figure it all out mate it's not hard. The T5 bulb holder is already there. You'd need exactly whatever else you'd need for changing any other T5 light to a LED. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10x-T5-74-70 ... 415bf503cd If you have the wedge LEDs like the above, swap in swap out. If it doesnt work, pop it round the other way. If you don't have those lights or similar, buy them and save yourself the hassle of soldering crap |

Make CERTAIN you get the reverse polarity ones. The BA9S socket design is a bayonet type one. This means that if they're not wired up the right way inside you cant just 'turn them round' like other LEDs to get the polarity's correct. You can re-wire the bulb itself and change it if you're crafty though. Just DON'T try and be clever/lazy and swap the wires of the bulb plug itself around like I did. Lol. |

I tried hard to find a certain "reverse polarity" globe but I couldn't find anything specific... so I just bought some SMD LED ones, hopefully they work they were labelled as "Interior LED" if they dont work Ill just go back to stock. Thanks heaps, Russ

I was going to say, if it doesn't light up, just swap the wires around on the holder...so much easier and makes no difference going back to normal globes either.

Oh and also, I just checked mine... those bulbs I mentioned work for the front reading lights too.
