I'm putting power windows in my ED XR8 Sprint, but I don't want to replace the door trims. Any ideas on how I can cover the window winder holes . . . some say you can get plugs for the holes (hmmmm?)

Dont use plugs - it looks cheap and dodgy.

Get some Fairmont door trims from the wreckers, rip off the velour, and get them covered in vinyl. Then put the XR fabric insert into the them.

Another option to try (what I am going to do when I get the power window gear) is to put EB GT door trims in. The insert will go straight inplace of the leather one.

XR8Chic,

I didn't think the Fairmont trims could be re-covered as they appear to be moulded . . .

You've got yourself a grunty sounding car there!

I trying to find different ways to increase my power, but it's all a bit expensive . . . guess I'll just keep dreaming

Excellent idea, but I think the motor is in there so you might need a slim one.
Cheers

Are the sprint trims different to standard XR? I dont know whether id be cutting up original sprints...

Edit: And its a sprint! Thats why it doesnt have electric windows and stuff! For speed :D

The tweeter is a good idea, but I think I'll be stuck for room.
Yes the actual trim panel is the same as normal, but the fabric is different . . . I won't be touching the fabric, only the trim itself.

Maybe take it to a plastic welder, they fixed a rip in my door trim. Maybe they could match the plastic or something to cover it and make it look smooth? just a stab in the dark here but worth checking out.
