the little spring loaded contacts behind the steering wheel are probably worn out

hi yeah have the wheel off at the moment had look at that they seem to be touching the rings on the back of the wheel. i have access to a parts car which the horn and cruise worked on if i swap out pins would that be worth a try?

yeh try that. to remove you just push them in and turn. my EB always wears them out. the horn works, the cruise will turn on and off but it won't set. it always murders the set/acc contact. so i just don't bother now. put grease on the rings to prolong the life

or would it be better to just swap the whole indicators/wiper on the steering assembly off parts car?

i had this problem a while back with the xr. cruise would light up but would not set a speed, horn also did not work. after an hour or so of trouble shooting with a workshop manual it was discovered that the cruise actuator was open circuit. replaced this and everything worked again.
