If they break just pull it apart and make a new shaft out of aluminium, better than paying 150 bucks for a new unit and the thing is still made out of crappy plastic that'll break in 2 seconds.

looks good but how much to manufacture in alloy
There are brand new one's on ebay with a two year warranty for $95 inc postage but yeah the only question i have is will it now strip the other plastic components. Only time will tell but i will give it a go if the price is right as my drivers door just snapped

well there's a guy on ebay at the moment $75 for a fully reco'd door lock apparently with the actuator moving gears all replaced with stronger material, even has some kind of waranty i recommend checking it out

I thought Ford themselves were making them out of metal now.

hadn't heard that when i asked about the BF ones i was looking at $130 and all they could tell me is that they are stronger than BA

Ford - BF plug is different on the lock mechs - but they come with a loom to plug into ba also

I was told these were sold seperatly from the locks though
