Hi,
Does anyone know how to remove the mirror switch without damage i.e. without printed circuit board being exposed or anything else that might fall apart. I was about to change the drivers door interior cover with another but could not remove the switch. I can remove the round knob but that's about it. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks |

Im pretty sure the main frame is just clipped in. You might just need to pry it out with a small flatty by pushing on its locking tabs.

shows you how it's clipped in
this is how it sits in ... front & rear views how wiring plugs in - also the 'hole' is how the plug is removed/unplugged with a small flat screwdriver slipped in to hold female end of socket open so male plug can then be removed. I remove wiring plug before removing switch. I remove door trim so I can push it out from underneath without breaking it. some of you maybe less hamfisted than me & might be able to lever it out without removing said trim 1st pic is pushing it up. 2nd is halfway out. will need ta 'jiggle it'. 3rd as it finally comes out. |

I agree , yes, you can try to use a screwdriver but as mentioned, I don't want to damage or break the thin base.
I did manage to get one clip up but that was as far as I went on my first attempt. Now I can see what's required, I'll need to unclip the wiring harness before removing the switch. Thanks very much for the pictorials and description. Cheers |

Good descriptions.
Question. How does the connector separate from the switch? Is it a type that one needs a micro screwdriver to separate the joiner or something else? Thanks |

Thanks as per above pic .... the hole has a small plastic 'mound' from the wiring plug sitting in it to keep wiring plug in. small flat screwdriver to hold edge 'up' & you can then remove plug. if your not sure what I mean ... I can put up a pic of male plug |
