Need to replace the original XR manual shift knob in my ute, as it's yucky. It doesn't appear to be a simple twist and pull contraption, do I have to remove the trim and panels to get to the bugger?

What do want to replace? If it's just the knob, just unscrew it.

P.s. They are glued on from factory. Use vice grips and a rag.

or preferably a strap clamp or what ever it's call thing, as there ridiculously tight to get off.
use a bit of belt sort of like for oil filters. saves damaging the leather.
