I got straight gas on my XB and I use the original fuel guage. Thats the way the dude installed it for me. Thought that was a normal thing.

chhersdude - The EFs use DOL to control, the petrol guage when running on DOL.. so it really has to be the ford unit as far as I know.
As for the ED - Measure the resistance of the sender (maximum fuel and minimum fuel). Im assuming the LPG tank has a gas level wire of some description (not too farmiliar with LPG), and then you use a couple of resistors, or knock up a circuit to transform the LPG value into one that the ford guage can read... not too hard really. Cheers

G'day
A bloke was telling me that you can buy a box that converts the gas tank signal to the petrol gauge. I'm trying to chase it up at, for my work ute that i'm building. Cheers

Been covered a few times before:
http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... lpg+sender An LPG installer should be able to tell you whether your current LPG sender is compatible with the instrument cluster.

All you need is a 10 to 190 ohm tank gauge (from memory thats the resistance) for the gas tank.
Depending on the type of tank and gauges used, you should be able to get one. I know they make them in the round type that most tanks tend to favour. Or you could get one off a tank from the wreckers. There are bound to be a stack of taxi's floating around with these type gauges. Swap the gauges on the tank over, one pin on the gauge goes straight to ground, the other is the wire from the cluster. Just disconnect it from the fuel tank and extend it to the gas tank. Job done! |

Its usually written on the face of the gauge. It will have 10-190 or 50-250, etc, etc, which details the resistance of the thing.
