I like the idea of the iluminated door handles. My ride being a stock GLI has no curtesy lights in door to wire to. Where is he best place to pickup power when interior light is on. Would also be nice if they came on automatically when ignition is switched off. Dont see the need to illuminate them if I have already opened the door.

Can I get it from under the dash? Where?
I guess if I look hard enough I could find it, but you may save me some time.

Ive got the same problem. if you want it to come on after the engine goes off, the curtiousy light at the keyslot is your best bet but i dont know if GLI's have them. either that or buy the curtiousy light kit from Jaycar for $10

Im going to do it to my car but i dont know how to route the wiring to the back while still keeping the wires hidden.

No that has me worried.

In regards to the lights coming on after ignition off. I guess a relay wired in parallel to the manual interior light switch. That I'm not modifying any wiring. Just need a timer that will come on when I turn ignition off. I guess

Isn't the switch for the interior lights on the ground wire, i.e. the positive is actually constant and the negitive is switched? I'm pretty sure it is when I was doing mine as I remember thinking that's really perculiar.

upgrade to a mid series BEM and you'll get the light dimming feature
