Hey Guys i'm thinking of doing the illuminated door handles in my EL but prob is that i don't have the courtesy lights in my door to tap into with mine being an XR so question is where is the best place to get the power i read somewhere that there is a wire in behind the dash is this right or wrong also if this is right does anyone no the coulour of this wire any other suggestions on where to get the power from would be great

Little bit of info there... someone else asked the same question a little while ago.

Best bet would probably be the dome light.

do the xr's have the footwell lights? or the light in the back of the centre console?

i just used the footwell lamp originaly. but i wanted em to stay on while i drive so just extended the wire to the cigarette lighter. easy as pie

Nope, only IGN key illumination - the XH XR's get footwell lights (this is bit of a turnaround).

Get your 12v off the door actuator yellow wire, get your earth off the courtesy switch for that door - means you only need to run 1 wire through the door loom conduit.
Trade off is they won't fade when the door is closed - if you want fade, get your 12v from the yellow/green IGN illumination light (runs down the steering column).
