Hey Guys,

I was hoping to do the Climate Control Conversion on my EF GLi. I called a guy who nows more about the A/C and stuff. He told me that not to do the conversion, saying stuff like you will have to change the engine loom for that ambeint sensor i know that i can just add wires withou having to change the engine loom. also says that the blend door motor gets klonky then you have to open your dash out again to fix it.....Have to change the heater box(Do i really need to change this?? And what is this anyone have pictures of this??)(I have read the Tech Docu On this conversion but says nothing about the Heater Box) So if there are guys here that have done this conversion on the GLi i would like to hear some feedback..and dont say things like "it was a worthwhile Conversion or it was a great conversion" Tell me how long it took, was it easy, what things do i need to change, etc. And one more thing do i need to regas or whatever that means after i do the Conversion????

And i Made a list of the things i need to get for this conversion tell me if i need to get more stuff..

Climate Control Module(I already Got(Grey Surround With Black Buttons))
1.Ambient Temp Sensor
2.Sunload Sensor(I already Got)
3.Blend Door Motor
4.Vacum Control Solenoid
5.High Series Dash Wiring Loom
6.High Series Green BEM(I already Got)
7.All the Piping,Connectors,Plugs and Wires, ETC

If you guys have any of the parts PM me and make a note where i live will be a good idea for the postage/pickup etc. I prefer if you have them all together or have at least a couple of them. PM me with what you got and price your are looking at and also location i might be able to pick them up.

I need other parts to do other conversion:
8.Semi Auto Antenna with Inside Switch(Grey Surround Prefer Black Button)
9.High Series Wiper Speed/Indicator Stalk(With all Plugs and that Light for the Ignition)

Thank You

I've done a few conversions,

You don't require a High series Dash Loom, just a Fairmont one.

and yes, ambient sensor is only 2 wires.

No you DO NOT have to remove Or change the heater box.
Yes it is worth it.

If you don't remove the heater box, then you don't require a re-gas.

BUT sometimes I prefer the manual settings.

Dont have a clue on how much a complete heater box costs. do you want a new one? if you dont try some ford wreckers in the yellow pages would be where i would look at.
