hey guys

basically this is the story. I have an ef futura and a pioneer in dash dvd player which is yet to be installed as its still in my other car. Ive been looking at some dash mods like Hyena and that and I want to do something like that with the screen, except just make the cd/dvd player hole lower so it doesnt have to stick out heaps because of the lip just under the clock in car.

Has anyone done this, or can lend some suggestions maybe, photos etc to help out.

Also has anyone got any photos of dvd players in ef/els with that lip to show how much it pokes out?

Specifically in dash players or other setups as well?

just in dash, ive seen other setups like screens, but yeh, since mine is an indash one, that goes out and folds upwaeds id like2 some ways about them

So your pioneer is a dvd player and screen in one single DIN unit ? Just get hold of a double din radio surround and mount the head unit a little lower then make up spacers to fill the gap at the top and bottom. You'll also probably need a flat bracket on the sides of the head unit to retain the use of the existing mounting holes/screws.

I did a similar thing with a previous incarnation of my dash, only I was filling the space below the headunit.




This is an aweful picture but it shows what I'm talking about ( I mounted an indoor/outdoor thermometre there and used a piece of old door trim cut up from the wreckers and sprayed black so the colour and texture matched the rest of the interior)

I assume you're trying to get clearance from the part of the dash above the headunit that sticks out ?

did u make this hyena or did it come in a type of car?

if u have an ea - ed u can mount a single din flip out screen above the center air vents, the only problem is u will loose your clock

yeh mate I had it in an eb, this is my new car I was asking about but its in now anyways just mounted quite a fair way out
