ok i may get some electric windows for my car what i want to know is how hard is it to wire them up in to a car without electrics
i will have all the swicth gear and regs

haha and you bagged me out cause electric windows you said were for fags! :P

anyways - i'm sure they'd be similar to the e-series ones wouldn't they? check the mods docs - & talk to ugly igley - hes currently doing the conversion to his Gli :wink:

the regs fit in the premade holes

run the cables to the switchpack and simple as that :P

the prick of a thing is runnin cables thru the door rubbers lol

I noticed the other day when I had the front door trims off that there was a electrical plug hanging inside the door cavity,would this be for the electric windows? I have a EL gli Falcon.

The job is a billion times easier if you pick up the door loom with the power window wiring as well, then all you do is replace the whole lot, instead of trying to push new wires through a b**ch little door rubber.

The most important thing is using bolts that are short enough not to scratch the window when winding it up/down.....

and on those bolts make sure you put on a split washer to stop them coming undone, or you'll be in there again after a few bumpy miles!!! :P

if the AU windows are anything like ED ones its not all that hard, the hardest part was feeding wires through the door rubbers (especially the drivers side one, was a bit of a prick finding power for them too, there is a spot for the fuse but no power goes to it, so i just found the big thick +12 line coming into the car and tapped into that (with a fuse in series), so far it hasnt drained my battery
