Auto sparky probaly won't either. You'll need to find like a TV/VCR repai rplace, or a computer repair place, as they'll know how to deal with surface mount components.

If the door ajar circuit is not required then perhaps you can just grab a 180 Ohm resistor and wire the 4 dooors and the fuel filler to the resistor and then ground it. This way the cluster will just think all the doors and fuel filler are normally closed. The boot switch won't be an issue and won't flash so no need to worry on that one. It's definetly the bulb out warning lamp circuit for stop lamps and park lamps. However, the current draw of a Fairlane's stop lamp cicuit is higher than our SWB setup so it's not just plug & play.Fair warning to anyone just splicing their stop lamps etc through to the cluster for this warning circuit to work as the possibility that the extra current may damage the new cluster. This is something I am looking into too.

Well Fairmont in Futura is close to the worst mod I have done. S frustrating. Finally got the resistor problem sorted out (thanks Greg and Vic) then had to re-assemble the cluster for the third time.
In now, working but since I use those Narva LED Globes, I couldnt get the ECON and CRUSIE lights owrking on the dash. No real loss, just hope eveyrthing else lights up ok at night, bit ahrd to tell at 3pm. Just a side note, this may sound like a stupid question, but does the CTRL LAMPS fuse control how the car starts? I had mine out (doors open and didnt want to run down battery) and when I tried to start the car with it out it didnt really work. |

Meh...oh well its all good. Using the Narva globes the oil and volts dont light up real well, any ideas why?

No I just stuck them in, I sandpapered the LCD odo screen one, that one came out nicely.
