Check that the plugs those looms plug into have an earth line from the body loom.
From memory, I'm pretty sure I had to add a pin and splice into an earth line in the body loom. Earth lines are black normally.

more good news cost wise, the existing front power buttons that will be replaced are the exact same as the rear ones, so i don't need to track down and buy rear buttons
all set to install now, just waiting on the motors to come |

ms1990 wrote: so what is involved in removing a fairmont loom and installing it in my futura? i can get one from pick-a-part, but not sur ehow to go about it Mate , It is a fair bit of work . I am doing it right now. Its not just back door wiring and console switches . You have to Completely remove carpet and unscrew air con vent under console to get the wiring out from under it and replace . Both front seat belts on b pillar .All interior light switches, left hand front guard flasher ,all boot trim ,Right hand rear demister wire and the trim covering it .Even the earth screw on the inner right hand rear quarter panel. The wiring you are using has to be removed with a clip removal tool to save the clips or it could rattle if replaced loosely . Wow , Just seen how old this thread was . What a waste of time that was . lol |

Oh ,And I forgot the rear parcel shelf wiring ,speakers ,boot light , Rear window stop light , Oh and the fuel pump . I think it has been mentioned before , Just buy a Fairmont . Its quicker . This thread is from 2009 . That makes sense , he's probably still doing the swap . LOL .
I must add , I have finished but it would have been quicker and easier to swap the tickford body kit onto the Fairmont . |
