ages ago i was hunting around for ideas for my interior, that i could do myself. well i started last week took two days to do and i am really happy with the result.
i used a vinal dye, and lots of preperation pulling everything apart, took longer to pull everything apart than to spray them.

plans are to do the cloth inserts in a dark green, and the bottem half will change colour but as of yet im not sure on what color. im going for a stock but not look.

anyway some pics for you pic hungry mobs. 35k each so even steam powered connections are fine :)

big view

Bit hard to see with those grubby pics, but did you do the whole dash ? Either way it looks familiar... :P

Looks like a bit of dodgy masking around the speaker grill. Good luck getting that off, I got a touch of overspray on one of my arm rests when I did mine and after nearly scrubbing the vinyl off I still couldn't get rid of it all. Oh well, it says alot for the quality of the dye!

You need a series two radio surround - I hate the concealed cigar lighter and big "overhead compartment" style ashtray.

Looks good mate, keep it up. Just don't go some gay bright green or yellow color whatever you do.

real hard to tell if the dash itself it black or just bad lighting.
can't go wrong with black, and i like the EL shifter surround.

i got the vinal dye from rice-o-bahn, as a few frinds have used it and no wear is apparent. its vht vinal and carpet dye.

i didnt sand it at all i like the rough look, dont want it shiny and glossy would look odd.

The whole lot is matte black, everything that was darkish gray is now black. inc switch surrounds, vents, and the pannel etween the dash and wind screen.

defenatly wont be going a horrible colour, i want a subtle more modern look.

so far i love it. just need a new black steering wheel, but things to do befor that...

the photos don't seem to do it justice, i think using the flash would show the change a lot better.
the top 1/2 of the dash and door trims have been painted black along with the dash surround.
