well i saw this in another topic but i cant find it again..
is it possible/practical to do one? its in a movie called "the transporter", basically i think ( correct me if im wrong) you turn the key to "on" and then there has to be a numeric code punched in so the car will start. ive got an ef falcon and want to put one into it.. i think it would look really sweet.. ideas? suggestions? comments? |

This is a factory feature in the Subaru B4's - and probably many other cars.
Im not sure if there are any after market products that you could bolt in, so it may mean some component shopping at jaycar and some time with a pen, pad and soldering iron.

I think what waggin was implying, is that it can be done to a EF Falcon, a bus, even a lawn mower, if you shop around at jaycar for the right components, and if you have a little knowledge.
I suggest you go down to jaycar and buy their yearly catalogue (about $4) and have a flick through it.

My mate with a Subaru WRX swears it's the worst thing he's ever had to deal with.
You can save yourself $4 by browsing Jaycar online.....but I couldn't find anything immediately obvious that would help. Lukeyson |

They are pretty annoying...
you start the car then type the code You have a certain amount of time to punch in the code before the car turns itself off. most subarus have it? I have also heard a story about a bloke who got his WRX stolen, only the have the guys walk back up the street to beat him up when the car died.. |

so if some1 has your car. u have a certain amount of time to run in the opposite direction
or mabe. find a wrecked subaru with one in it.. and try to remove the system and wire it into the falcon |

Is it like the auto-window-up function some alarms have? If so how will it know when the window is fully closed? Also where would one source one? 'Cos it sounds like a cool feature to have - in a way, as long as it isn't too expensive.
