gday e1 ,1st post for me hope its in the rite place lol ,i have an ef gli sedan with 2 remotes and only need 1 so i tryed out the doco i found on ya site about setting new remotes to other cars ,(my wifes ef wagon ) i followed instuctions and it seemed to work but only the emobilizer works ..the keyless entry didnt work .....could it becose the remote i used only the boot buton works on it so thats what i used or would it be something els ,,,,,,,,,any help would be gr8 thanks ..oh and the site is awesome wish i had looked at it when i had me EA ..cheers

im not 100% sure but i think the remotes for the wagon and sedans are completely different, also the wagon remotes are minus the boot button

yeh why were u training a remote to a wagon when the wagon doesnt use the boot button??

some wagons have the boot button.

i think its the fairmont wagons that have them.

All smartlock keyfobs have the same circuit board inside (with both door and boot buttons), just the front covers vary.
They will all train okay on any smartlock sedan/wagon/ute.

You can use the boot function on the wagons/utes for a customised function, e.g. using a sedan boot solenoid on a ute to open a hardtop using a sedan remote. The BEM just needs the boot wire to be added.
