Just bought some bayonet style interior LED's for the car and they dont want to come on with the rest of them, does anyone know how to get them to work as they draw stuff all current compared to the rest of the lights. cheers.

Have you got normal leds just wired in, or ones with the resistor installed?

Yeah Ive found the same thing out the hard way too....
The LED globes are a certain polarity (ie positive pole and negative sleeve) and the car is the opposite pretty much. I reversed the wiring in the roof light, but now only the map lights up top will come on when all the interior lights are switched on... And the passenger ones may be a little harder...

the lights in question were the bayonet style but in LED. found out that they are reverse polarity and have fixed the issue with some led boyonets that have the same polarity as the standard globes.

Yeah thats what I was talking about..
Standard filament globes don't actually have a certain polarity - they can go either way, its just LEDs have one way polarity. So did you find some globes with reversed polarity? I'd be interested in getting some if you have?

As mentioned they might have different polarity and might need to switch the neg and pos around as i have done with my reading map lights. when i was fitting them bayonet leds.

yeah i found some with the right polarity which means the outer of the bayonet is the negative and the end of it is the positive. $8.50 for the pair. because the rear lights in the roof are a 3 pin plug it has a negative trigger i think and the bayonet leds that i had previously bought needed to have the pos and negative changed but you would need to run a pos trigger as they work the opposite way. now that i have the right globes on the way it should rectify the situation i hope
cheers

I didnt run any pos trigger, i just switched the pos and neg wiring. Well good luck with it any ways.

Quote: outer of the bayonet is the negative and the end of it is the positive. Unless Im very much mistaken you want the outer sleeve to be positive and the pole to be negative..? Im in the process of rewiring so I can use the LED bayonets and thats how my car is setup..?

If the led light doesn't work when you plug it in then you will know that you will have to switch pos and neg around otherwise if it works don't need to change anything. I had to switch mine on the map lights....well that was the only place where bayonet light went.

Yeah but at least in an EB the rear map lights are run with a contant 12v and then the door switch, and on switch are run by earths, so you cant just swap the wiring around...
