Hi Guys, Just wondering the legalities of fitting late model eg BA seats into XE Falcon in Victoria?
I've found many posts regarding how to do it but I haven't found the posts which advises how to keep it Roadworthy and fit for Insurance. Any help would be appreciated and apologies if this post already exists. |

I was under the impression that you can use later model seats in a vehicle as long as they are mounted securely without sacrificing the structual integrity of the vehicle.
To be 100% certain I'd check with Vicroads first.

You won't get any heat from cops during a stop, I had monza seats in and no troubles, but by the letter of the law (Victoria) you can only use a seat that was an option by the manufacturer when the car built.

Something like that that has to do with safety in a crash has to be ticked off but i have to agree with MikGan ive never been hassled for seats, and thats having 2003 seats in a in a 1972 ute. But i dont make a d**k of myself on the road so only get pulled over at a breatho.. plus im 45 they hassle younger people with a lot of bling on their cars. Hell as long as theyve been fitted right later model seats have to be better, remember the 2 door Falcon seats of the 70's fckn death chairs.

Here's a link to a list of VicRoads approved signatories. http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonl ... t_2011.pdf Basically it's gotta be signed off by one of the engineers in the document above saying that it's safe enough for use.
