Are than are rear seats i can stick in the back of the falcon to lose the 60/40 split? And still keep the S pack interior? Would much prefer to just have the centre fold out.

let me guess....you want to have your sub in the boot and the centre fold down for your sub to come through the centre like all the commodore drivers???
not gonna happen unless you get your rear seats welded as one seat then chop out the centre piece and get it retrimmed, waste of time |

you could try modifying the top half of an xf seat.
But if you do want the sub sticking through the seat, do you know that having a sub properly installed facing backwards into the corner is as good as having 2 facing forward!! But if you want to be full sick mate you go for it.

tests done a mag years ago, they tried all different positions, facing forward, back, up, down whilst monitoring thru sensors in the drivers seat, which is where you would be sitting and hearing it, they also found that in hatches the best position was for the sub to be parralel to the hatch glass firing towards it, cant remember how much better the hatch one was as i didnt own a hatch.

60/40 seats are fukin brillaint! after working at ikea and having to load many many cars, i was quite delighted when trying to fit a 2*1 metre 50kg box into a falcon, piece of piss.. along comes a commodore driver, same product, =
fuken pain in the a**!

I'll second WOrp3D. I read the same tests that showed the most inefficient location for a sub was at the front of the boot (behind the seat) facing forward into the cabin.

is this the same for both sealed and ported boxes? what about at the front of the boot but facing away from the seat? i wouldent really want my sub at the back of the boot cos chances are something will be loaded in on top of it when i lend someone my car.

i just changed mine from 2 10in subs mounted in a box and facing into the cabin (behind the seat) to a single 12 in in a ported box mounted behind the r/h/rear seat facing towards the l/h/tail light (about 45deg angle)
and it sounds like i got a new system. it made a BIG diffrence. |

i have a single pioneer 10" sitting in the rear corner of my boot, it does take up room but i dont put much in there, also the box was designed for the sub and i lucked out when i made it, didnt check the height, was about 10mm from the boot when closed.
Since it sits right in the corner nothing gets near the cone and nothing can be stacked on top. I dont remember the outcome of the ported box tests, just remember the sealed ones coz thats what i had then and all i have ever had.

I have my sub behind the seat firing at the rear of the car. A friend has the same sub behind the seat firing into the car, the difference is very noticable.

So sitting in a custom closure up against the hump, firing towards the back of the car works good for everyone else?

My 2 x 12 inch subs are in a sealed box facing the seats and I still hit 136.7dB so the possition is not that bad.
