I've once had my old Fairy's one at -3.5 deg on my way to work at 7:30 in the morning a few years back.
I'm also only 30-45 mins from Melb city too. Not up in the mountains...

Come to think of it, mine might have actually been in my old mans EL when i borrowed it. Either way it still read -3.5 deg.
Cause it started off at 0.5 deg at my place, and dropped as soon as i hit the highway to -1.5 deg, then got to -3.5 at my bosses house.

*did have a thick layer of the condensation ice all over my car too.. also found it hard to reverse up our steep driveway.. felt like i was in a "Reverse gear burnout comp" at 530am.. neighbours must love it!
