hey guys i just bought myself a DF LTD 5litre for a tidy little price, one question i need to ask when i lock the car (passenger rear window not all the way up as it is broken) the interior lights wont turn off. The car is not locked via the keypad as it didnt come with one but just with the keys, now in my old EL Gli the interior lights went off almost as soon as it was locked, the LTD however does not they wont turn off at all...any help much appreciated cheers guys n gals

i had the same problem in my na fairlane i ended up finding that there is a little switch on it and its not in the right place, and if it doesnt have a look for the sensors on the pillers one might be broken

in ghias and such, the interior lights "fade out" and takes about 15 seconds to go fully out. To test this, lock your car and then stand outside it for 20 seconds just to be on the safe side.
GLi's don't have this feature which is probably why it is raising concern with you. Test this out and post back here

other wise one of teh door switches must be faulty and the car thinks the door is still open thus the lights remain on

cheers for the replies guys, yer it seems as tho one of the door switches is faulty which was my thought at the beginning. I stood next to the car for minutes and they didnt turn off so im thinking door switches anyways i shall check after work tomorrow cheers guys

No Dramas - Easy job mate - just pull them off one by one with a phillips head screwdriver and check for continuity with a multimeter
You will identify the broken one in 5 minutes

Dont LTDs have two door swtiches per door? One for the lights and the other for the diagram on the dash?
So make sure you're checking the right ones.

also, if the switch next to the headlights is in the 'up' position, this will keep the interior light on

checked the door lights after work today and they are fine, i was thinking it could possibly have something to do with the headlight switch due to the fact that when i turn my headlights on my driving lights dont come on unless i turn the indicator on then when i turn it off the driving lights turn off...this has got me stumped to be honest im used to the Gli nice and simple lol

thats what they are meant to do
If you read your manual they are cornering lamps, they turn on when you go left and turn off a second or two after your indicator goes off! Are you sure door switches are fine?

tis tru i had a read of the manual and discovered that....on topic tho turns out it was the headlight switch i replaced it today and all interior lights now dim and go off just like they should, cheers for all the help guys much appreciated
