I just bought a 1996 Falcon EL and the mileage count in the dashboard is very dim, almost invisible. I can see it occasionally depending on brightness of the day and the angle that the light comes in.

Any idea on what to do?

In the back of the cluster behind the display. That involves pulling out the whole surround to get to the cluster screws so you can take the cluster out. I had to do mine its a whole lot of pissin around to replace a globe tho.

yep, will just be the odometer backlight globe. The procedure to get to it is as outlined above. You will need to remove the stereo/ashtray surround, then the dash facia then remove the cluster, replace the globe and put it all back in again.
