Actually just a couple.
One of them is the seatbelt assembly's. The spindles they wind onto make a racket in there housings. Especially the one on the parcel shelf. I'll have to live with those ones. But one s**t me, and I can't find it. It's when I drive over sharp bumps, and I get this noise down low to the rear, in my right ear. Almost like the drivers door or rear door shakes up and down in the frame. Or a seat shaking, but it kinda sounds clapped out and I hate it. Anyone with similar or even a fix maybe... Cheers. Anyone else's door lock stub (lock thing on top of trim) on the driver's door vibrate and make gay noise when idling at the lights? Can this be fixed?
And how do you stop the rear-view mirror from vibrating? Distorts the view. The right hand side one does it too at idle, but the left hand side one is fine (odd o_O).

Yeah my door lock stub pisses me off at the lights, i usually give it a wack on the top, it locks my doors in the process but it gets rid of the noise..
Sun visor clips also piss me off, but i either give it a good wack or turn the music up louder As for the rear view mirror, nothing much you can do there.. ive heard of people sticking blu-tak on the back to give the connection a bit more support but it doesnt bother me as much.. If anyone has any easy proven solutions then please share for us lazy ones!

Yeah mine does, really really weird. I just lock it to shut it up. Quote: Sun visor clips also piss me off, but i either give it a good wack or turn the music up louder
A mate wrapped duct tape around teh bit where it clips into, works well. Stopped all the rattles. |

Yeah I think it's Bears Flashtac. I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually there you know. I found mine where the foam insulation, and tar impregnated foam, and normal flashing for around skylights and the s**t, is. |

I have the suspension squeaks up front over bumps.. It is the suspension rubbers. Also rear shocks/ shock rubbers give rattles that s**t you. I have a real bastard in the dash that I have been to slack to strip down and locate.. needed some excuse to remove the whole dash Like upgrading to fairmont guages or something ....

Turn the music down Nah, I dunno bout EF/EL's, but the ED's have a plastic/rubber gasket type thing in the join. One of mine is MIA on the left hand side, and you can't see s**t out of it. Maybe yours is faaarked, or the spring inside for the 'don't rip my mirror off' thing isn't as tight.

You all wanna know what those things are that are knocking away inside your front doors. Everything
What I find are the broken plastic end bits that have the spring around them, on the power window regs. They can knock loud. I force silicon based glue in the spring parts. Another one is the plastic box/shroud that the door handle rod sits in. It can come away from the door and happily bang away. I wedges in some tar soaked foam, and secured it with cable ties. Another source of annoyment is the lock actuator motor and rod and steel hooks. The motor can knock against the door frame, the rod and hooks can sound like a small bunch of keys rattling in the door. I tried to coat the steel parts of the hooks connected to the actuator, that's a hard one to solve. The rest can be cables flapping around and knocking against the door, I secured them down with duck tape. But after all that, I still have this one noise happening in my right ear, around the middle somewhere between drivers door and drivers rear door. And I hate it. |

The vibrating driver's mirror trick could possibly be caused by the spring the mirror sits against not sitting where it should be. The spring can shift about if the mirror's bent back and loosen up in there. I fixed mine by diving in with a screwdriver and wrestling it until it got into a better position. Whether this is the best way to fix it I don't know.
Current squeaks, creaks, groans and rattles I'd like to track down and/or fix, but probably never will because complaining about it is kinda fun: - glove compartment rattles on certain bumps. I've determined it's a result of having just the wrong amount of weight in the glove box; a bit more and it stops, a bit less and it stops. Pushing in the top right corner of the closed glove box while the car is moving silences the squeak, but isn't very practical. - passenger side seat belt stalk rattles due to being somewhat f**k, despite the fact I paid $30 to have it replaced only to discover the replacement made worse noise than the original. - something rattles like f**k inside my cluster. It sounds very much like the clear plastic front of the cluster is loose, but it doesn't change if you push on the plastic or hit it or anything. Narrowed it down to being somewhere inside the dash on the left of the cluster, but nowhere easily accessible. - left rearview mirror rattles, squeaks and gradually falls off. This is due to the mirror having been harshly snapped backward and some idiot trying to shove it back in place quickly so no one knew. - driver's door whistles unpleasantly when driving at anything over town speed due to the rubbers being utterly s**t. Mm, I love my car, yes I do.
