Well as u can see they aren't very weak at all. I would like to go brighter but am too lazy to do so.

Sorry to dig up an oldish thread but i'm interested in doing this on my car, just wondering if you had to sand back the backing on the dials and needles where there coloured before you put in the different colour inserts? And how did you attach the colour inserts to the dial cutouts, or are they just sort of sitting there?
Thanks mate and looks great.

Oh and also did you 'frost' the globes using sandpaper or something or just put them straight in?
Sorry for all the questions.

sorry bout the lateness but have been workin.
i did not frost the led's as they are brighter with out doing that, the filter i used is cut and marked to fit the holders that hold the dials in place and my dash had white needles originally. i wanted red needles but they are hard to come by.

so im guessing here that you fitted the blue plastic behind the dial bits so they are the same shape and size as the plastic dial bits(if you can understand my jibberish) as i am unwilling to try the whole led into holder and solder one i am interested in this way of doin it though the other idea i had was the white led,s and a blue silicone sleeve over them ????? wonder if that would work

nah the blue sleeves are s**t,
i cut out my filters and fit them in with just white leds, as soldering looked too hard and seemed that one f**k would render dash fkd. the lcd is 1 led with a filter and white paper, and my trip comp has 3 led's to make it visable during the day.

Did you filter just the leds in the trip computer or filter the LCD. I filtered the LCD with 1 white led and is hard to read during the day and bright spot in the centre at night.

yes i put a blue filter cut to the same size as the orange one and then put a bit of white paper to disperse that bright dot.
