hey all, just finished putting some blue led lighting in the footwells in the front . i love the blue led mods.

unfortunately, ive read the blue leds dash conversion tech doco, and it only really covers the later e series models. ive yet to see a pic or real topic coverage on converting some of ea-ed series dash to blue led. would love to hear tips, or see some pics.

pic of my car included. not luxury, but she's my slice o' paradise. :D

That looks pretty good champ, all ya have to fo now is the Cluster, and she'll look schmick.

What made u go with pin point LED's instead of a blue neon?

2 different types of light, 1's a saturating light and the other is pin point.

ok, biggest problem with the earlier model clusters, is that the ORANGE is actualy painted on the face on the dash.

So if you put blue LEDs in, it would come out sickly green.

The only real mod you can do is to throw some RED leds in, but anything other than red just looks horrible

get your hands on an XG XR6 cluster. They are not orange, they are white.
I found one by chance for my GF's EB, when her odometer f**k up.
They look heeaps better, but they are VERY hard to get your hands on

ok so what are the compatibility issues if i was to pull out my mates ef dash (sh, dont tell him  ) and put the dial in mine? would it require much modding to fit? and would it display all the right lights, warning etc.

i didnt really make a concious decision to have the pinpoint leds, they were just on the shelf, and i couldnt see any actual neons. (go go gaymart). but yeah i think i will have to change em to neons for better saturation. pain in the a** that i cant do the dials. started another topic to get some more info on that tho.

lighting tips?
