Just finished doing the EF dials and now i gotta take the dash off a again cause the fukin trip computer isnt lighting up faark

I found it easier to lightly glue the new template straight onto the old black plastic one instead of copying and cutting a new one

And cheers to "dsheps83" for the design

so is there anyone who has the standard template for a ef/ex consol, the one with the speedo in the middle and the fuel on the left and the temp on the right. coz iv been trying to copy mine but i can get it going.
If i get the template then i can mod it and print it myself.
Cheers.

ok found the other 4 screws, now do you take the old dials out and put the new printed ones in or do you lay them over the top of the old ones ?

I laid mine over the top of the old ones. The light will still shine through the paper eg, my speedo lines are red and they light up red, should be the same for blue, green etc

Easiest way I've found is to select around the numbers and gauge marks individually using the Polygonal lasso tool then copy and paste into a new layer. When you chop in a new background image, move the layer with the numbers to the front each time. This should keep the numbers visible.

This's one I'm working on for my EB

The magic selector is faster. Just make sure you're scans are clean beforehand (i.e. make sure there's plenty of contrast).

Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone has tried printing these on clear plastic film, the type used on overhead projectors.
Thinking about giving it a try and applying some sort of blackout paint to the back of it in the spots I don't want lit, just leaving the flames and markings lit up and having the XR logo as the high beam indicator.

Problem with that is you can't print white. So you'd (possibly, depending on the design) have clear bits.

Also, clear transparencies for inkjet's are uber expensive.
