gday. im looking at installing some footwell neons and the doco says that as i have a gli, i would have to wire them into a plug behind the stereo or something. anyways, when putting the rego paper in the glovebox this arvo, i discovered a light shining somewhere above it. what is this light and could i patch the neons into this lights wires? it seems easier than having to pull out the stereo again. thanks

the glove box light is exactly that, it lights up when the glove box is open. stick your head in there youll see where it is and how it works.
you want a positive wire that switched when the doors open or you turn on the interior lights. if your just going to have the neons wired up to a switch that you can turn on/off at your discretion then wire the up to the cig lighter using a relay (10amp should be fine)

I just mounted footwell neons in my BA and I recommend finding the dome light circuit and wiring them to that. Doesn't the glovebox light only come on when the glovebox is open? My mate did his EF futura at the same time but he already had footwell lighting so we just swapped the globes and we were done. The BA dome lighting runs up the A pillar but there will be tutorials on yours too.
That way the footwells light up with the dome light. Tyler
