hi gang can anyone help . i have an april 92( non smartlock) fairlane which wont lock the doors with the key. i have to push the drivers side button down(this will lock the rear doors)and then use the key on both front doors. i have replaced both front actuators (twice) any help much appreciated :(

have u tried getting a second hand keyfob and programming it to the car

He said NON smartlock, it doesn't have keyfobs.

This happened in my june 92 EB2 when i first bought it, among other problems. There was a problem with the drivers door wiring that was shorting the whole lot when i tried to lock/unlock it. Mayeb check the wiring in the front doors for shorts.

thanks for your quick reply, i had the door cards off the other day and had a quick scan over the wiring will check again. the workshop manual wiring diagram shows a motor that locks/unlocks the doors any experiences with this. thanks guys

try opening the rear doors and pressing the front door locks down and see if it does it. my 92 lane non smartlock lets me have the rear doors open and lock all 4 doors, its great when getting bubs out of the back.
