Depends on what you need to do with the neons.
Give us more info then we could help you. |

well i just want to run 2 neons one in each footwell straight to a switch so they can be turned on or off at will, the switch has to be powered so it can direct power to the neons so i need to know wat i can do.
could i pull the wires out of the cigarette lighter as it doesnt get used anyway and put them wires to the switch or not. |

i did this in my ED.
i connected both negatives on the neons to the cigarette lighter negative. and both postives to the lighter positive via a switch. means they will only ever be on when ignition is on, but you can also switch them on and off. took all of about 5 minutes to do.

mine are wired so they can either be always on (with the ignition), always off, or on at the same time as the interior lights. that way when they are on with the interior lights, you can do the cool thing of having them come on when you unlock the car... kinda ricey but its a nice effect and people like it the first time they see it.

Mine are wired to the interior light wiring of the car. However having a fairlane it is a fair bit easier for me as well as having the dimmer.

Could you run them to the light switch on the drivers side of the dash? That way they'd come on as the interior lights would, would make the right one easy to do anyway...but not the left so much
I wouldn't mind putting in some simple footwell lights one time, but I'm not really all that partial to screwing around with electrics....unless its reasonably straightforward.

I have a blue led dash and clock ... also the two lights above the rear doors are blue leds as well as the center light ...
the two foot well lights are blue neons and mine are wired so they are on at the same time as the interior lights. so they come on when you unlock the car. it was so easy to do as i just spliced into the current foot well lights but removed the white globes |

Thing is tho that only Fairmont/lanes have the footwell lights AFAIK, is the wiring still in place even on the GLi/Futura's/XR's? Anyone know?

So the neons handling the dimming ok? ie. do they dim as well, or do they stay on until some point then just go off.
