Hey friend of mine wants to install neons into her footwells. Question is where would I wire them to?

i'll need to find this wire too - have an alarm to put into my sisters purple people eater!

i've had a quick look and i can only see the internal roof light as the option.

ive done them in my footwells

i just wired the neons straight to hte battery but i also made them work ony when hte doors come open

if u want a switch just wire htem to the battery and put hte swtich where u want it.

mine only work when a door is open instead of all the time

well i have a 95 falcon, and i decided a good way to stop people from smoking is to unplug the cig lighter and use the 12v to install 3 green computer neons. I then filled the hole where the cig ligther is with a round button switch

Ok I only want them to come on when the doors are open. I jsut did 4 into my Coupe but I used my door light. The roof light seems like the only option (quick look) but those wires must lead somewhere; the question is where?

na u dont need to use the interior lights

all u do is ground hte neons on the thing that turns the lights on when hte door is open (little stick that pops out when door is open)..

you simply ground hte neons there and when u open the door, taa daa it completes the circuit and the neons come on

The little black button thing?

Nope doesnt work, tried that today. Unless I made a mistake but Im pretty sure I didnt. Where does the positive wire run to?

k yeha

you run your positive straight to hte battery, so just extend the wire and run a positive and negative out to ya battery.

then your little black spring button, take it off and u have just like a wire there, ground your neons there. (connect all the neons in paralell and ground em all together on the black button)

i have 4 like 1 in each of my footwells and i made it parallel and grounded them all on my drivers side black button.

If i have the chance ill get you some pics

it took me while to work out how to get em on with the doors and a tried doing it off lights and all that other jazz but honestly this way is easy once u work out how to wire it

ive got some pics and heres the wiring diagram
ok
the neons have 2 wires out of them one is positive and one is ground

run one wire from the positive terminal on the battery to where u want it, then connect neons onto it (as per diagram). Then have another piece of wire that is grounded (on the black button), connect the neon ground wires to the ground wire parralel to each other (as per diagram).

any other questions or if u dont understand feel free to ask

thanks

So positive wire to the battery, negative wire tapping into the wire behind the door sensor?

yeah

and then u just connect all the positive wires of the neons to that power wire from the battery and then all the ground wires on the neons to the ground wire from that button

I have green interior lights also. Except I have just got green rubber caps on my existing interior curtisy lights. It looks sweet.
