before you do anything take out the airbag fuse. then you conect the airbags. then once everything, i mean everything you put the fuse back in and it won't go off in your face

Have you checked that the reason why your airbag light is on is actually because the airbags need replacing and not some other reason? Check out the diagnostics document modification page thingo and have a read, it solved my problem after I had changed my steering wheel.
As for the air bag going off, it should only do that if you set off the sensor which is in the front of the car or somehting! |

As said, take the fuse out, maybe take batterry out (just as a double precatuin) and leave it for 30 mins or 3/4 hour, cant remember which one, there is a capacitor which holds the airbag charge for that long. So drain that out. Play with brake pedal to help the cause and make sure there is no charge eft in anything.

as said check the reason why the air bag light is on. cause u never know it might be the clock coil spring cause if that is f**k your air bag light will come on. does ur crusie control work, if not ur clock coil spring is f*****

The reason both AIRBAGS went of, im not to sure exactly coz i bought it damaged for $2600 EL FAIRMONT GHIA 97 THAT IS and i think who ever owned it had run down into a ditch and it hit the side (left) and pushed the whole front railing and chassie up, so im guessing thats how both went off,
ive completetly fixed everythign ready to be resprayed tomorrow, cant with though, gotta go for the VIV and sh*t like that RUSTY

Hey, I'm just curious on what you plan to do with the car... I presume it's what they call a "repairable write-off"? I was having fun looking at all of the smashed up vehicles on an auction website last night, some are totalled (stat write-off) but I did see a BA that just has a bit of side door damage which looks pretty minimal. Then again there are some that appear to have a small amount of damage (like the rear bumper and tailgate buckled) but there are other telltale signs like the doors not closing properly.

Nah thats not smashed at the front, its fine, where are the other sensors? obviously theres one on the left hand guard? or would that of been just the vibration to the sensor in the middle that caused my airbags to go off?
THIS IS BEEN A REALL GOOD HELP! cheers RUSTY
