I have non smartlock, but I took a normal tibbe key, broke all the plastic off it, then filed the end down and modified it to fit, below is the result.

HAHA, bloody smarty you are - geez, who would have thought of THAT!

Id like that, having it all in one unit like the new holden ones, but meh i can deal with it lol, for now.

Excuse me daniel, i think you should change your post.
Because you mentioned holden when infact for also have the singular thing. with the ford focus, its quite a smart little devie it is. like the ford falcon keys but has the remote etc built in.

This is absolutely brilliant !!!!
Could you let us know what the alarm brand is ?? This can be done on any alarm, provided the keyfob has this facility.

Um no, i think ill keep it as it is thanks.. lol

Truth is i think more people know the holdens to have 1 piece keys than focuses; there is no reason i cant say "like the holden ones" on this forum, nobody here is that anti holden.

OR ARE THEY  i am not a huge fan of holden and barely give them any credit, because all i ever cop is s**t about ford.
As for the key darn id like something like that instead of the various keys on the keyring. just one for the car and the house key, not the remote, car key, glovebox/fuel cap key, gets weird.

Holden have made some nice cars, just as ford has.
Im more ford biased i guess these days altho i can honestly say i can respect a nice car no matter the make.
I honestly think the sterotypical view on ford vs holen is sad, but not much ya can do as its just going to get stronger and stronger by the year without a doubt!

Totally agree daniel, its been blown out so much, and has evolved as the years go on. Now when we go to the v8s we sometimes get sledged by holden ans, i mean cant we get to a point where we have the competitiveness but still get along.
So how easy was this key to do, like what was it tat you actually started off with????

The fob came with a blank normal sort of EA key the flat ones (non tibbe), the key is held in with 2 little screws one each side at the end.

The key was just a normal silca replacement cut key you would get at any key cutting joint, I then used a chissle and hammer to get the big plastic bit off, then put the key pole (that is all thats left) into a pair of locking vice grips (a vice could also be used) and got out my $5 file el-cheapo file and started to file the end down just thin enough to fit in all the way, I then used a hacksaw to cut a groove in the end of the key for the little screws to be put in and hold the key in place, put the screws back in, and hey presto a very nifty all one key and alarm fob :D

Pretty easy and didnt take long to do at all.
