I was interested in this, so I never said anything. There was also an EL one that finished last week. I was the winning bidder on that one, until I got sniped.

This was for the EL one

hi, i know about the eeprom thing, and i want to do it, but there's this funny little yellow thing blocking me from taking it out. looks like its soldered in and only there to stop me taking it out! dammit! its not in any of the photos that ive seen on here, where i got the instructions from...

any ideas what it is and what its for? its about the size of the eeprom and same shape, but on its end. i found it while soldering the resistor in so the lcd's work on my new dash. thought i'd look at doin the eeprom thing too since i was there.

i bought the dash off ebay, and it has about 50,000km. mine is 170,000km, so its not close enough to just not worry about!

cheers guys...
