Hi all,

I recently bought these seats...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0310244914

The are said to be EF fairmont seats, so I figured they'd fit straight into my EL falcon GLI...

The back seat is the problem.. the middle and bottom bits all seem to fit, but the side "ears"... the bits on the backrest at the very sides are heaps bigger than the EL ones they are replacing and don' t seem to fit with the GLI rear seatbelts and plastic pillar covers..

Also the locks that the foldering backrests lock to are at a different height to the locks on the seat backs..

Is it possible that these seats are fairlaine seats not falcon? or is this normal???

What can I do folks? can they be made to fit?

That is a bummer.. will have to get a refund or exchange I think...

Still I fixed the guys computer while I was there and he gave me a pair of EF XR6 front struts 94DT and a NL rear garnish and some other bits as well.. so nice guys, just that the seats are not what they are supposed to be.

bummer.. I didn't actually know that Fairlaine seats didn't fit in falcons.. thought it was all the same..

The base and main seat back should fit. The side bolsters won't.

You can remove the fabric off the new bolsters and use them to cover your old bolsters.

As BenJ said, the fronts fit, the rear sit fits, bar the bolsters.
Mate I wouldnt worry about a refund, 80bux for a full set of Fairlane seats is bloody cheap!!

yeah.. but what good are they if they don't fit?

I really can't be stuffed recovering the bolsters and also the lock bolt is in the wrong position to line up with the seat backs..

Just called the guy, they have tons of seats and will see what others they have for fairmonts.

I fitted EL Fairmont sedan seats to my wagon - the rear I swapped the cushions/fabric/armrest to the S/wagon upper back frame, stapled the fabric to the existing bolsters, and the job is done.
Use some smally cable ties instead of the hog rings - the frame will need a couple of holes drilled for extra cable ties.
Unless the leather back seat is from a SWB ghia, the LWB f/lane ones won't fit - so for the price you got them for - make them fit, improvise.

I suppose I can if I have to... but the bolards are much bigger on the fairlaine and a completely different shape.. (they have no cutout for the seatbelt reels and rear pillar plastic.) so would require more than just swapping covers to look good.

The guy I got them from is going to find my something else... they get lots of fairmonts in so should not be a big deal..

look nice.. but the bollards should be much the same as both are fairmonts.. Front seats are a different story as I think you'll have to adapt the runners.

Mine were from a fairlaine, so rear seat not exactly the same (about 2 or more inches deeper on the fairlaine.
