cos i'm interested too There is an existing technical document provided by Xyphoid here http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=14 which will give you the instructions and pin outs for EF - EL cluster changes.

Xyphoid and Uglybob have done it and I have just recently completed it too. I have a technical doco with many pictures in the making but I will not upload it till I have completed the warning lamp system conversion on my car.

Well the cluster works fine and the door ajar system is wired up and works fine. The remaining item that I would like to complete is the warning lamp circuit. Fairlanes amperage is different to Fairmonts.

How hard would it be to put a high series fairlane cluster into a gli based car? obviously some extra wireing which i'm ok with, and would i need a high or mid series BEM?

Fairlanes amperage is different to Fairmonts. That is not a problem, the system works on a difference between applications, if the current drawn this time is less than last time then it lights the warning lamp, if it is more then it learns this new setting. To reset it, if for example you want to use lower power lamps you need to remove all load and start again.
Cheers TW.

Cheers TW.

If it is able to learn the new current setting, do you know if there is a limit on how much current it can take running through the cluster, just for the sake of knowledge??
