OK...ive got an EB Fairmont with climate control & theres no hot air AT ALL...The air con works fine, but when it comes time to warm up the car.....nufin....the tap seems fine...is this a common problem with the Fords.???

yes it is, just like mine, it'll be the blend door motor on the heater box. $160 for the part and labour is up to the back yardie you get to fix it.

as far as i know, its a genuine part only. yuo have to remove the dash to get to it because its on the back of the heater box.

i don't have climate control but mine had the same problem and the thermostat was stuck open. I think it cost me $30....$15 for labour and $15 for the thermostat.

Strangely enough a fellow workmate had the same problem after changing the battery.After doing the climate control diagnostic which includes a door calibration.It all works fine etc.,

PRess your off button and the bottom right button (inside the flip down door) to perform this calibration.

Error codes will flash up if you have any problem!

you can sort of get an idea if your thermostat is stuck open by having a look at your temp gauge. If it is constantly cold it means that there is always water running fully through it and therefore not allowing the engine to heat up. Also because my engine was never heating up the fuel mixture was always rich because the computer thought it was cold and therefore it costed me more in petrol.

trust me ...its not the thermostat....i done that a couple of months ago & the temp is fine in normal conditions.....ill try this diagnostic thing & see wat happens...

nope, gave that job away as a big joke, work 60 hrs a week and only get paid for 38 hrs doesn't make financial sense to me.

yep... :( Blend doors broken..Diagnostic gave an error message of E2....thanks 4 ur help ppl...
