Hi,
I have an AUII June 2000 car Yesterday morning all seemed ok, drove down the highway to the coast no problems, set to lock my car using remote key, no problems, interior light goes out. good. This evening, interior light did not want to light when I open driver's door, placed key in ignition to start and interior light comes on and stays on, tried to switch it off using dimmer switch, still nothing happened. Got out of the car and locked door with remote key...parker lights flashed as per normal, then had the car's horns going quickly so used remote key to leave vehicle open. Basically cycle repeated itself. Anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Thanks, Peter |

Sounds like you have a faulty light switch on one of the doors. The horn usually goes off when it senses a door is open so you can close it before locking it. Because the door switch is faulty, it always thinks the door is open no matter what unless you fix it. So all you gotta do if find which door is the culprit so you can replace the switch.
If that doesn't work then I have no idea. |

I had another look at the rear passenger door and yes it was not closed properly, damn rubber that goes over the wheel arch part was protruding and door waa ajar. I had a big day at sea today and felt abit tired when I got home. The rubber must have came ajar when I was placing a large esky on the back seat. So yep. problem solved. Thanks for your help , it's appreciated |
