Nah cause the dye doesn't soak into the wood, it was just taped up with maskng tape then the dye sprayed onto the leather. It was brand new so the leather took the dye really well cause it wasn't soiled with oil from ya hands and s**t. I got it done at a leather specialist joint What kind of joint? And how much if you dont mind me asking? |

The place is called leather creations, down here in melbourne in richmond.
Took a while for them to do it cause its a small job in comparison to some of the full custom leather retrims they do for cars, household furniture like couches and even leather clothes and goods. The dyeing was $90, but that was a 'mates rates' deal, so I guess anything from $100 to about $130 odd should see it done. Definately worth it in my opinion, and I know a few other people that have had it done and they are more than happy too. As for the dye rubbing off, as far as i know the FBT's were dyed and I have seen a couple slowly starting to rub back to black, but that is after 7 years, so I guess it wouldn't be too hard to get it redone if you were keen on keeping it |
